These past few weeks have been a whirlwind. Our entire world is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. While this has been a time filled with uncertainty, hope is very much alive. Currently, our warehouse is closed, but we are fortunate enough to remain open online.
The decision to close our store was not an easy one. It is a blessing to have such a closely-knit staff that truly enjoys spending time together. Through the magic of technology, we have still been able to grow even closer together by laughing together and staying connected.
Each morning, we continue to hold our devotional time over Google Hangouts. A team member continues to light our hope candle each morning before we begin. It is now more important than ever, to think of and pray for the women who are still out there. Lighting the candle each morning demonstrates that even in dark times, a light always exists.
It is incredible to hear how our staff is still hopeful during this unprecedented time. Rethreaded is still going strong and will continue to pave the way with your support. One of our employees was able to reunite with a good friend from prison that she has not been able to see in a long time. Another employee shared about how she feels so grateful to be productive from home. Many employees can now spend increased quality time with their families.
Our virtual meetings are filled with laughter (some laughs are more boisterous than others...we are looking at you, Jason 😉), playful jokes, and unspeakable joy. We know these things will never be canceled.
We are sharing this to remind everyone that community matters. No matter what our world is going through, the community can keep hope alive. Don't forget about the friends or family who live alone or friends you haven't spoken to in a while, reach out, we urge you to keep building community in safe ways.
We can't wait to reopen our doors, but until then we pray everyone stays safe and healthy.
