Women Are Changing The World (Women Empowering Women Fall 2019)

Thursday, September 26, was an incredible day for the Rethreaded community and the women of Jacksonville. Our Women Empowering Women (WEW) networking event is always something we enjoy, but this one was extra special.  

The day of Women Empowering Women Fall 2019, Jacksonville consulting firm, HDR volunteered at our warehouse for Rethreaded’s first volunteer event. They generously donated their time, helping us set up our new event structures.  A few months prior to this event we were given a $5,000 grant by the HDR Foundation, to purchase these event structures. This donation saves Rethreaded nearly $12,000 a year. 

Event set up requires a lot of hard work, and HDR made it all possible. A number of people from the HDR community came to the event to serve food and drinks to attendees and assisted with event tear down. Thanks to the HDR volunteers and the Rethreaded team, our first fall WEW ran smoothly and looked outstanding.  

Fall Women Empowering Women’s theme was Legacy. In the networking sessions we answered questions like, “If your five-year-old self met you, what would she think of you?”and, “What advice did your parents or grandparents give you that you remember best?” Many attendees talked about how their five-year-old self would be proud of the woman they’ve become. Others discussed how their grandparents instilled the value of loving one another above everything else. It was incredible tosee new friendships form and bonds grow stronger between everyone in attendance.Many stayed to shop and chat long after the networking finished.
