Volunteer Appreciation Week: AnneMarie

We are wrapping up our celebration of Volunteer Appreciation week by highlighting another one of our amazing volunteers, AnneMarie McAree. She is an Operations Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and is the daughter of Angela McAree, Rethreaded Production Manager.

AnneMarie was beyond excited to share about her volunteer experience at Rethreaded. We hope her answers bring a smile to your face as much as they did for us:

Q: Why did you choose to volunteer at Rethreaded in the first place?

A: “My mom is so passionate about her work, I was curious to see what it was all about. Once I volunteered with Rethreaded I was amazed. The absolute trust and love that everyone shows each other is empowering.”

Q: What has been the highlight of your volunteer experience?

A: “Renewing hope; while most would think that renewing hope is solely for a survivor of human trafficking. I found my hope had been renewed that the world can be a better place and that small acts of kindness have the ability to make a huge impact.”

Q: What has been the biggest thing you’ve learned while volunteering at Rethreaded?

A: “Positivity. When you walk into Rethreaded the vibe is nothing but positive. Even when everything seems to be going wrong, or it’s a hard day, being positive can make everything better.”

We are blessed every single day by the individuals who offer up their time to help Rethreaded. Thank you, AnneMarie for loving our sisters and sharing your kindness with the world.

Check out this handmade and handcrafted piece our volunteers contribute and provide their skills to help make.

Sign up to become part of the Rethreaded family by volunteering with us!
