Juneteenth Is A Day To Celebrate Freedom!
Juneteenth, or Freedom Day, is an American holiday celebrated annually on June 19. On June 19, 1865, in Galveston, Texas, the last remaining enslaved African-Americans in the Confederacy were freed. The following year, the first Juneteenth celebrations began. Since 1866, people have gathered all over the country in observance of Juneteenth. Celebrations involve festivals with educational events, food, music, and more with a mission to cultivate knowledge and appreciation of African American history and culture.
