At Rethreaded we love to celebrate community and today we are doing so by announcing our new partnership with Her Song!
Her Song is a local non-profit addressing the issue of sex trafficking of young women in Northeast Florida by providing restorative aftercare services to survivors. They hope to open a safe residential program later this year which will give survivors a safe place to live, to rest and reflect and then begin the process of transformation.
In the meantime, Her Song is dedicated to providing practical survivor care. Thanks to a two-year grant awarded to us by the amazing Women’s Giving Alliance, we are now better able to provide our employees with the support they need. Her Song founder and mental health professional, Rachel White will now be on-site at Rethreaded providing survivor advocacy services on a weekly basis. This work involves mental health support, case management, psycho-educational groups, job-site support, and trauma informed education across the organization.
It takes a group of people to traffic women into the largest criminal industry worldwide and it will take a community to help them shape and sew their new stories. We are so thankful to be a part of a community that is dedicated to helping her become who she was created to be.
“Best of all we are both devoted to providing survivors the opportunity and the resources to reach for their potential. While there is much work to do to build a community of support for survivors, we can't think of a better match that moves us all forward,” said Rachel.
